Wladyslaw Gurgul, 90

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — Father Wladyslaw "Walter" Gurgul, MIC passed on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at BMC in Pittsfield.
He was 90 years old.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1930, in Belz, Poland now in western Ukraine on a farm. His family and he were sent to a Soviet Labor Camp in Siberia. His mother and aunt and their families escaped in Nov. 1941 from horrid conditions.
They arrived in Kazakhstan and he was educated in a Salesian Fathers High school in Jerusalem. He was ordained a Marian Father in Rome on July 4, 1960. He was a devout and a dedicated priest and a very helpful person.
In 1997 he arrived in the United States. He continued ministry mostly at the Shrine of Divine Mercy, Stockbridge.
Funeral Notice: A liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Shrine. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to members of the Marian Fathers
