Constance Merriam-Chapman, 84

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Constance A. “Connie” (Dupre’) Merriam-Chapman, 84, of Adams, died Saturday morning, December 26, 2020, at Berkshire Medical Center, with family by her side. She was born in North Adams on March 21, 1936, a daughter of the late William and Muriel (LaPierre) Dupre. She attended the former St. Joseph’s School and Drury High School in North Adams. Connie last worked at the Big Y Super Market in Pittsfield. Earlier, she had worked at the former Newberry’s in North Adams, Cornish Wire in Williamstown, Grant’s in Pittsfield, Epco, Inc., Raphon Industries, and Filene’s, all in Boston; and the former Sawyer Cotton Mill in Dalton. She was a member and Past President of Post 68 American Legion Auxiliary, Pittsfield, and enjoyed ceramics, camping and horseback riding. She is survived by her husband, Frederic C. Chapman, whom she married on August 17, 2002; six sons, Leo Robillard, Jr. of Otis, MA; Stephen Robillard of Cheshire, Daniel Robillard of Pittsfield; David Robillard of Adams, Ricky Robillard of Cheshire and Ronald Russell of Maine; a brother, William Dupre’ of the State of Florida; two sisters, Mary Sterling and Theresa Douglas, both of Vermont; 22 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 30th, at 11:00 AM in St. Mark’s Church, 400 West St. Pittsfield, celebrated by Rev. Christopher Fedoryshyn. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. There are no calling hours. Due to current regulations, use of face masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced at the church and cemetery.
