Marian Robinson, 98

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. —  Marian E. Robinson, 98, a longtime resident of Stilwell Street in Great Barrington passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 20, 2021, at Fairvew Commons Nursing and Care Center.

She was the wife of the late Howard Robinson, who died on Dec. 2, 1996. The couple was married on Sep. 12, 1942.

Marian was born April 16, 1922, in Stephentown, N.Y., the daughter of William L. and Jessie Deckett Geerholt. She was a graduate of Averill Park High School. Mrs. Robinson was a 30-year volunteer at Fairview Hospital and a member and former secretary of The Southern Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association. She was also a member of The Thursday
Morning Club as well as The First Congregational Church in Great Barrington. She was an avid Red Sox Fan.

Marian was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was very proud of her family. In her later years, she was the loving companion of the late Burt J. Ball, III.

Marian is survived by her two daughters, Donna Sermini and her husband Robert of Great Barrington and Barbara Lawrence and her husband Rick of Portland, Maine. She also leaves nine grandchildren, Thomas Sermini and Matthew Sermini, Sr., Stephanie Carlson, Wendi Teeple, Linda Waterman, Karen Mallory, Catherine Mallory, Leah Lawrence and Tynan Lawrence as well as fourteen great-grandchildren, Tiffany Sermini-Greene, Nathanial Sermini, Ashley, Matthew Jr., Tyler and Kyle, Michael, Arianna and Daniel Sermini, Khalil Carlson, Caleb, Elijah, Isiah and Gabriel Waterman and great-great grandmother of Lucca, Amber and Juniper Sermini-Greene, along with her sons-in-law David Teeple and Thomas Mallory.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, Corporal Raymond E. Geerholt who died in World War II and her daughters Janet R. Teeple and Carol L. Mallory.

In accordance with Marian’s wishes, a private family service will be held. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
