Scott A. Chapin, 47

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Scott Alan Chapin, 47, of Adams, died on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his home.

He was born in North Adams on July 24, 1973, son of Dianne (Foster) Chapin and the late Dennis Chapin. He attended schools in Adams and North Adams and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1992. He then attended Berkshire Community College and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Scott was a self-employed entrepreneur and “Jack of All Trades”, while living for a time in Tennessee he was the owner of The Dental Shop and he had also worked as a chef for Jiminy Peak Resort.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hiking in the woods. He was an avid gardener of vegetables and flowers. He had a great love of animals. He also enjoyed building things with his own hands.

Besides his mother of Adams, he is survived by his daughter, Lillian Wilson of Pittsfield; his son Colby Chapin of Pittsfield and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He also leaves his beloved dogs, Rocky and Tucker.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in the spring or summer.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
