Bruce Jenkins, 72

ASHFIELD, Mass.  — Bruce A. Jenkins, Vietnam War Veteran, passed away at 72 on March 3, 2021.

Bruce was born on April 22, 1948, in Ashfield to Lilian and Archie Jenkins. He served his country during the Vietnam War as a Green Beret within the 46th Airborne Division, from 1965 to 1968. Bruce was a paratrooper and carried out over 32 jumps while in Vietnam/Thailand, where he earned the Vietnam Service Medal and was inducted into the Thailand Special Forces. He was a steam engineer and worked at the Berkshire Medical Center Hillcrest Campus. On July 27, 1991, he married Nancy Warner and they raised two twin daughters, Andrea and Kelsey. 

Bruce loved watching Baseball and rooted for the Boston Red Sox. He likewise loved to read books on history and enjoyed collecting vintage war artifacts. He adored classic cars and going to local car shows. Everyone fondly knew Bruce for his contagious smile, witty humor, and kind heart.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father Archie, and his mother Lilian. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his twin daughters, Andrea and Kelsey, his brother Keith Jenkins and his wife Judy, his sister Sandra Mason, several nieces and nephews and cousins. 

A graveside service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honor his life may make a donation in his name to the Vietnam Memorial Veterans Fund or Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Bruce was a great friend, Joe always enjoyed talking with Bruce while doing work at their house. And enjoyed the peanut butter and fluff sandwiches that Bruce made him. He will be missed. We love you Bruce. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nancy and girls.
