Walter A. Mille, 73

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Walter A. Mille, 73, of Adams, died on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield.

He was born in North Adams on July 4, 1947, a son of the late Lawrence and Lucille (Morris) Mille. He attended schools in North Adams and graduated from the former St. Joseph’s High School.

Mr. Mille was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the United States Marine Corps until receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1968.

Mr. Mille worked for many years as a steam fireman for the former North Adams State College, then Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts until his retirement. Earlier he had worked for the former Cornish Wire and General Cable.

His wife, the former Theresa A. Kozak, whom he married on August 14, 1971, died on August 29, 2016.

He is survived by his two sons, Brent Mille of North Adams and Shawn Mille and his husband Travis of Pittsfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Lawrence Mille.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 15th at 10:00 A.M. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Due to current restrictions, admittance to the funeral home may take longer than usual and anyone attending the funeral or calling hours must wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
