Richard V. Wood, 74

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Richard V. Wood, 74, of Adams, died on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Craneville Place in Dalton.

He was born in Pittsfield on March 1, 1947, a son of the late Hugh and Dorothy (Bastow) Wood, Sr.; he attended schools in Pittsfield.

Mr. Wood was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the United States Army until receiving his Honorable Discharge July 5, 1968.

Rich worked as a machinist for many years for the former General Electric Company in Pittsfield until retiring.

His wife, the former Sandra F. Kalisz, whom he married on September 21, 1968, died on August 31, 2009.

He is survived by his two sons, Derek and his wife Jennifer and Kevin Wood; his granddaughter Cheyenne; three brothers, Charles Wood, Robert Wood and Daniel Wood; his sister Susan Wood and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Hugh Wood, Jr., James VanBramer, Kenneth Wood and Lawrence Wood and by two sisters, Cecelia Dion and Phyllis Kershaw.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 28th at 2:00 P.M. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams.
