Elizabeth "Betty" Prenguber, 102
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Elizabeth Antoinette (Del Negro) "Betty" Prenguber, 102 of North Adams, MA died on Saturday July 24, 2021 at North Adams Commons.
She was born in North Adams, MA on August 15, 1918, a daughter of Nicola Del Negro and Caterina (Manzione) Del Negro. She attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1937.
Betty worked at the former Arnold Print Works for several years and then worked at Excelsior Process and Engraving. She also assisted her husband in the operation of the former Berkshire Bread Co.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church where she was a member of its Rosary Society and served on the Bazaar Committee for many years. Betty was a member of the Clarksburg Seniors, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Spitzer Center. She was a longtime volunteer at North Adams Regional Hospital, at area nursing homes and with the St. Vincent de Paul Conference.
She was the widow of Joseph Peter Prenguber who died on October 28, 2002. They were married on May 3, 1941. Survivors include one daughter- Patricia Allen and her husband, Dr. G. William Allen of Livermore Falls, ME and one son- Joseph "Butch" Prenguber and his wife, Patricia of Clarksburg, MA. She also leaves four grandchildren- Carolee Carlin (Stewart), Brad Allen (Sandy), Joey Collins (Kurt) and Daniel Prenguber (Rebecca); eight great grandchildren- William Carlin, Catherine Carlin, Jude Collins, Braden Collins, Joseph John Prenguber, David Prenguber, Camden Allen and Xander Allen and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and five sisters including Rose Laino, Carmen Russett, Angelina Langer, Theresa Czaja, Rita Mahoney, and John, Amedeo and Nicholas Del Negro.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Betty Prenguber will be celebrated on Monday August 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be private in Southview cemetery. There are no calling hours.
