Ervin Russell Dunham, 91

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Ervin Russell Dunham, 91, a longtime resident of Cottage Street in Great Barrington died on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, at Fairview Hospital.

He was born on June 29, 1930, in Housatonic the son of Alfred and Ethel (Decker) Dunham.

He married his wife, Mary Lou (Heath) Dunham, on November 26, 1971, in Great Barrington and together the couple attended The First Congregational Church in Great Barrington.

Mr. Dunham retired from the U.S. Airforce in October 1971 after 20 years of service having earned the rank of Master Sergeant. Ervin was a master mason and an active member of the VFW. He was an avid football fan and loved hiking Monument Mountain.

Ervin is survived by his son, Scott W. Dunham, and his wife, Lisa M. Dunham, his grandson, Cole R. Dunham, and his two granddaughters, Angelena N. Dunham and Alexza M. Dunham. He also leaves his brother Charles Dunham, two sisters-in-law Judy Dunham and Rowena Bazonski, and one brother-in-law, Harry Heath. Ervin is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

Ervin was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lou Dunham, earlier this year in January.

SERVICES – The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 12th from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 13th at 11:00 am at the Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, conducted by Rev. Tara Tetzlaff. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington.
