Richard W. Tarsa, Sr., 79

CHESHIRE, Mass. —
Mr. Richard W. Tarsa, Sr., 79, of Cheshire, died on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
He was born in Adams on July 27, 1943, son of the late Walter and Blanche (Kuza) Tarsa. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School.
Mr. Tarsa last worked for Specialty Minerals in Adams until his retirement after 30 plus years. Earlier he had worked for the former Pfizer, Hooker Chemical. James Hunter Paper Co. and Petricca Construction.
He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. He was a member of the former Hound & Hunt Club and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed fishing, collecting and watching NASCAR races, the Boston Red Sox and the Washington Redskins.
He is survived by his wife, the former Terrie McLeod, whom he married on October 10. 1992; two sons, retired Adams Police Chief Richard W. Tarsa, Jr. and his companion Wendy Laughlin of Adams and David Tarsa and his wife Victoria of North Adams; two daughters, Lisa Puffenbarger of Virginia and Kelly Bennett and her husband Thomas of Maryland; three stepchildren, Brian Brazee, Scott Moore and his companion Tina Bartini and Sherrie Lauth and her husband Daniel; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Wooley and by his stepson Christopher Brazee.
The funeral will be held on Monday, February 6th at 11:00 A.M. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams.
Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams.
Calling hours are Monday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
