Ann Carlow, 90

CHESHIRE, Mass. —  Mrs. Ann (Claudell) Carlow, 90, of Cheshire, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

She was born in Adams on March 19, 1933, a daughter of the late Ernest and Louise (Desautel) Claudell. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School with the class of 1951.

Mrs. Carlow last worked for the Massachusetts Division of Employment Security for 22 years, retiring in 1992. Earlier she had worked for the Adams Fire District. Ann enjoyed camping with her husband in her early years as well as a good book or crossword puzzle. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and in recent years she welcomed her great grandchildren.

Her husband, William J. Carlow, whom she married on April 4, 1953, died on November 28, 2015.

She is survived by her son David Carlow and his wife Teresa of Washington, MA; her daughter, Deborah Barrett and her husband Kevin of Adams; four grandsons, Brian Barrett and his wife Ashley, Josh Barrett and his wife Kalah, Dan Barrett and his wife Beth and Ian Carlow and his fiancé Cailin Koy; three great grandchildren, Chance, Hazel and Collins Barrett as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister Jean Claudell Bonvouloir.

The funeral will be held on Monday, April 3rd at 11:00 A.M. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
