Ronald E. Lillie, 81

ADAMS, Mass. —

Mr. Ronald “Ron” E. Lillie, 81, of Adams, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Mt. Greylock Extended Care in Pittsfield with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Wilmington, DE on April 20, 1944, a son of the late Wilfred and Gladys (Brothers) Lillie. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School with the class of 1962 and had served with the Massachusetts Army National Guard.

Ron owned and operated the former Jay’s Pools and Spas in Adams for many years until retiring. He was very proud of this business and what it became. Earlier (1992) he owned and operated the former Lillie’s Market and Package Store in Adams. His youngest children, Jason and Michelle, have fond memories of this store, where they could make the delicious broasted chicken and help dad by checking out customers at the register. Ron also had been a tool maker for the former Sprague Electric Company and General Electric Company. His oldest daughter, Kimberly, spent a lot of time with him at Burke’s Inn, the first business he owned along with his brother Wayne and father Wilfred. Her fondest memories are of playing pool and making pizzas there with dad.

Among his joy for playing cards, scratch tickets, taking trips to the casinos with his brothers, watching sports, especially golf, Ron enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He made sure to teach them how to play poker and also stocked them up on candy and goodies. Ron loved to cook; a trait that his son, Jason, also loves to do. His specialties were his homemade meatballs, ham salad, pasta sauce, turkey pot pie, pea soup and thanksgiving stuffing. He had the biggest sweet tooth, which both of his daughters, Kimberly and Michelle happily inherited.

He and his wife, Lois, met at The Bountifare Restaurant, former Midway, in Adams. They danced the night away and her “girls night” turned into meeting her future husband. You could always find them out dancing on the weekends. They liked it so much they took disco lessons. Their picture ended up being in The Transcript on New Years Eve with the caption “Dancing Together Again!” They also enjoyed going on trips with their children to different parks.

If you were lucky enough to have met Ron, then you would know what a kind soul he was. His calm and approachable demeanor made him a joy to be around. Although some would say he was quiet and kept to himself, he always lent a helping hand for those who needed it. He accepted everyone for who they were, never judged anyone and was one of the most easy going people that you would have ever met.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lois C. Satko, whom he married on September 17, 1976; two daughters, Kimberly Simon of Lee and Michelle Maston and her husband David of Lanesborough; his son Jason Lillie and his fiancé Jessica Wilson of Adams; three brothers, Wayne Lillie of FL, Gary Lillie and his wife Barbara of Adams and Mark Lillie of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, Jake, Zackary, Gabriella and Lincoln and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Bruce Lillie.

Calling hours at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, are Friday, February 6th from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.

Services and burial will be private for the family in the spring.

The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation at www.parkinson.org.
