Peter F. Harrison

The family of Peter F. Harrison is saddened to announce his passing on March 13, 2026.

Peter lived a life filled with family, friends, and love of travel and the outdoors.

Gone too soon, he will be deeply missed.

Peter was born on July 29, 1971, to Denis Harrison and Jennifer Smyth Harrison, in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Growing up in Newtonards, he was active in rugby and scouting, achieving the Queen's Scout award in 1991. After graduating from Regent House, he went on to study at Jordanstown (Ulster) University and graduated with his
Bachelor of Arts in Business in 1994.

In 1992 at the age of 21, Peter left Northern Ireland for Boston, Massachusetts where he lived with twenty-four fellow students at the International Fellowship House in the Back Bay. During that year, he completed a co-op work internship at Colonial Mutual Funds. After a year home to complete his degree, Peter returned to Boston in 1994,
green card in hand, to begin life in the U.S.

While working as a business analyst at Liberty Mutual, Peter completed his MBA at Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. He was an active volunteer with Boston Boy Scouts of America and Junior Achievement.

Peter met Denise Kimber Buell in 1996, and they married in 2000; their son Conor was born in 2004. The family moved to Williamstown in 2005, where Peter lived until 2025.

Peter worked as a project manager for enterprise level software development and implementation at Liberty Mutual and Guardian Life. At his passing, he was the Director of WTW Financial Service's Technology Consulting team in the Americas.

Last summer, Peter moved to Tuscumbia, Ala. to join his fiancée Amy Smith. Amy and Peter were looking forward to life together and were due to be married in May.

Peter loved to watch and play soccer–properly, "footie"–followed by a pint with buddies on Thursdays at a local bar. He volunteered with Berkshire County Youth Soccer and Williamstown Soccer Club, where he was–at various times–a coach, town coordinator, board member, and president. For Berkshire County Youth Soccer League, he was also a board member and league Registrar. He enjoyed refereeing games as well. He was an avid reader, especially of mysteries and fantasy series; he was also a Formula 1 fan and loved all things Porsche. Peter's musical tastes were extremely varied and extended to both 80s AND 90s pop music (even some disco).

Peter is predeceased by his father Denis Harrison, and survived by his son Conor Harrison, fiancée Amy Smith, his mother Jennifer Smyth Harrison, sister Susan Patton, brother-in-law Phil Patton, nephews Daniel and Owen, stepmother Iona Harbinson, stepsisters Mairi Nesbitt, Sunni Liston, and Sophie Seaton, and stepbrother David Noble, their spouses and children, and former spouse Denise Buell. Peter's extended family and many dear friends will keenly miss his big heart and wicked sense of humor.

A celebration of Peter's life will be held in St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown, MA on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11am with reception to follow. Another celebration of life will be held in Northern Ireland on June 6, 2026 (details forthcoming).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Williamstown Soccer Club or Scleroderma Research Foundation.
