DALTON, Mass. —  

John A. Ellsworth Jr., age 60, passed away March 23, 2026 after a series of recent health problems.

Born in Pittsfield on May 14, 1965, Johnny was a son of Janet Ellsworth and the late John Ellsworth Sr. He attended Wahconah High School and worked his entire life as an automotive mechanic.

An avid biker, Johhny will be remembered for his beloved Harleys. He loved to go fast; on his bikes, snowmobiling, and driving. He was a hard worker, a jack of all trades, and a friend to many.

Johnny married the former Kathleen Emala on August 7, 1999.

In addition to Kathy, Johnny is survived by his mother Janet Ellsworth of Dalton, three children, Christopher Ellsworth of Oregon, Alicia Welch of Pittsfield and Brenden Ellsworth (Lily) of Adams. He also leaves two grandchildren, Arihanna and Michael, his siblings, Annie Topper (John) of Dalton, Michael Ellsworth (Cathy) of Peru, and Eric Ellsworth (Lechelle) of Peru, his dear friend and riding partner Marty Parks and many nieces and nephews. Johnny also leaves his beloved dogs, Abigal and Jack.

In addition to his father, Johnny was predeceased by his infant son Johnny Ellsworth in 1987.

A celebration of life will be Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the Dalton VFW beginning at 1PM.
