Kiersten Joy Hoag, 34

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Kiersten Joy Hoag, 34, of Brattleboro Vermont passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
Kiersten was born in North Adams on Aug. 10, 1991 a daughter of Kerry (Rivard) Hoag and the late Jeffrey Dayton Hoag. She graduated from Drury High School in 2009 and later went on to attend Berkshire Community College. Her career was primarily working in the food industry.
Kiersten was lovingly called by her nick name 'Bug' or 'Bugs'. This nickname followed her into adulthood. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and her friends who she was fiercely protective of. Her only child, a son, was her world. She enjoyed helping others when she was able to. She had a bright and vibrant personality and loved life. She was tough on the outside and soft on the inside. Her time was often spent dressing up, fixing her hair, and putting on makeup. She also enjoyed teaching others how to style their hair and apply their makeup. She had a unique sense of humor and made others around her laugh.
Kiersten is survived by her son, Jasiah Owusu, of Pittsfield, her mother Kerry Hoag (Carl) of Adams, sister Amanda Hoag (Alan) of Pittsfield, and sister Karissa Hoag of Cheshire, maternal grandmother Charlene Lawson (Dave) of North Adams, nieces Aliyah, Alexa, Lilliana, Miyah-Lynn, Trinity, and Eden. She is also survived by nephews Christian, Cameron, and Maxwell, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is predeceased by her father Jeffrey D. Hoag, her sister, Katelin Rivard Rivera, maternal grandfather Armand Rivard, paternal grandmother Myra Geib, and paternal grandfather Alan Hoag.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday May 10, 2026 at 12:30pm at the Greylock Community Club Pavilion on State Road in North Adams for friends and family of Kiersten.
