Deben J. Collini, 74

SAVOY, Mass. —

In the early hours of Thursday, June 18, our beloved mother and adored wife, Deben Jean Collini (nee Arthurs) went on ahead to be with our Lord. After a long battle, against many difficult illnesses, she was at peace, comfortable and with her family when her time here came to an end.

Born February 13, 1952 and living briefly in North Carolina, she grew up in Massachusetts graduating from Falmouth Public schools in 1970. After school, her interest in photography led her to a job at Ortin’s photo supply, where she met recently returned Vietnam veteran Thomas Collini. Still enlisted in the Air Force, he took a job there only to meet Deben, knowing then that she was the one.

After marrying and some travelling out west, they settled back in New England and welcomed three sons Noah, Aaron, and Adam. Friendly and kind, but shy and reserved, Deben really came to find her true life’s calling being a mother. Understanding, compassionate, and patient, she always worked tirelessly to make sure they had everything they would need to build a strong foundation of their own.

Working for a time in Maine at LL Bean, she would spend most of her career as a bookkeeper for a wonderful family business. After her husband Thomas passed in 2016, she would finally retire in 2021 and went to live in the Berkshires with her family, where they were blessed enough to be able to spend time with her again.

Although said often, our mother did live for her family. She was inseparable from her adoring husband Thomas and the two enjoyed travelling together in their later years. She gave her best to her family and her children would never know a moment when they couldn’t count on her unwavering love and support.

She is predeceased by her parents Stanley and Anne Goodliunas and her cherished husband Thomas Collini. She leaves behind her son Noah and his wife Michelle, her son Aaron and his wife Jeanette, and her son Adam and his wife Agnes. She also is survived by her grandchildren Justin Collini, Aaron R. Collini and his wife Makenna, Isabella Collini and her great granddaughter Bailey.
