Charles D. Wilson, 95, of North Adams, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, at North Adams Commons. Charles was born on April 13, 1931, in North Adams, to Stanley G. and Mary A. (MacDougall) Wilson.

Charles was employed by Sprague Electric Company for 46 years, from 1950 until the company’s closing in 1996. During his long career, he attained the position of Quality Control Manager.

Charles had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed playing baseball, hunting, gardening, and simply walking in the woods. He especially cherished attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, as well as family gatherings and other special occasions. His presence and support at these events brought him great joy.

Charles leaves behind his beloved friend, Susan Spooner; his son, Charles D. “Chip” Wilson Jr. (Tara Cain); and his daughter, Sheila Cooke (Robert Cooke). He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Shealee Cooke (Jim Barrett); Ian Cooke; and Casey Cooke (Jessie Garner); and his five great-grandchildren: Marlee Cooke, Maddox Cooke, Reid Alvarez, Claire Alvarez, and Lorelei Cooke. Susan’s family: Rebecca Cellana (Curt); Stephen Spooner, and their children, Alison, Julia, Caroline, Caitlyn and Jenna. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Harvey Vallieres and many nieces and nephews he thought so fondly of.

The family would also like to thank the nurses and CNAs at North Adams Commons and Hospice of the Berkshires for taking such good care of "Chuckie" while he was in their care.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service to celebrate the life of Charles will be on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Southview Cemetery.
