Charles T. "Chuck" Lapine, Sr., 81

Charles T. “Chuck” Lapine, Sr., 81, of North Adams, passed away peacefully in the early morning of October 31, 2026, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Born on April 19, 1945, in Columbus, Georgia, Chuck was the eldest son of the late Louis C. Lapine and Bessie M. (Jones) Lapine, of Clarksburg.

Chuck attended Clarksburg Elementary School and Drury High School. He was employed by several local businesses in his youth, working as an auto mechanic and a home heating oil deliveryman. He served in the Massachusetts National Guard from 1965 until 1972. Chuck owned and operated Lapine & Sons Trucking Company for nearly 50 years until his well-earned retirement in 2021, working with his family and providing rubbish removal services to many in the Northern Berkshires.

Chuck will forever be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sally A. (LaBombard) Lapine, of North Adams; his sons, Charles T. “Chad” Lapine, Jr., of Clarksburg, and Eric M. Lapine and his wife, Jamie (Rinck) Lapine of Lincolnton, North Carolina; his grandsons, Travis Lapine and his partner Keegan Cytryn, of Adams, Cameron Lapine, of Concord, New Hampshire, and Nathan Lapine and his fiancée Lily Thang, of Chicopee; his great-grandson, Kai; his great-granddaughter, Esme; his sister, Donna (Lapine) Strong and her husband Neal Strong, of Shaftsbury, Vermont; and his brother, Wayne Lapine, of Clarksburg. He also had a loving extended family, including Joanne, Sage, and Logan, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was also predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Tina (Goodell) Lapine.

Those who knew and loved Chuck will remember him for his incredible sense of humor and devotion to his family, especially his wife of nearly 61 years. He enjoyed dirt car racing and bowling and was a member of several leagues at Mount Greylock Bowl from 1965 until 2010. He was also a longtime member of a Monday evening cribbage club and loved playing with his grandsons. He never missed one of his grandsons’ swim meets or hockey games and took great pride in their accomplishments.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Flynn & Dagnoli West Chapel, 521 West Main Street, North Adams.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck's memory directly to PopCares.  Please add to the book of memories at www.FlynnDagnoliFuneralHomes.com.
