John H. Dolan

Retired Navy Lt. Comm. John Harold Dolan, 75, of Winterhaven Road, Wolfeboro, N.H., formerly of Lee, died Tuesday at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. Born in Weymouth on Jan. 3, 1927, son of Harold and Edna Draper Dolan, he resided in Lee for many years before moving to Hull, where he resided for 15 years. He had lived in Wolfeboro for three years. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War, retiring after 24 years of service. Mr. Dolan then was employed by GE before retiring. He was a communicant of St. Cecelia's Church in Wolfeboro and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Lee. He was a past president of the Lee Library Association, a former chairman of the Lee Public School Committee, and a Eucharistic minister at St. Mary's Church. He also was an alpine racing official with the U.S. Ski Association. He leaves his wife of 52 years, the former Jean Verguson of Wolfeboro; a son, Sean Dolan of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Patricia DeLorme of Lee and Mary Meyers of Wolfeboro; a brother, George Dolan of Hanover; a sister, Natalie Hines of Cohasset, and eight grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening, March 21, at the BAKER-GAGNE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 85 Mill St., Wolfeboro, N.H. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, at St. Cecelia's Church in Wolfeboro, N.H. Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the New Hampshire State Veterans' Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, N.H.
