Adeline M. Tart

Adeline Marie Tart, 98, formerly of 7 Hamlin St., died Tuesday afternoon at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided since June. She had resided in Pittsfield since 1916. Born in Cohoes, N.Y., on July 7, 1904, daughter of Noé and Emelie Lajeunesse Aubin, she attended schools in Cohoes, North Adams and Pittsfield. Mrs. Tart was employed as a press operator by the former Eaton Paper Co. for 50 years, retiring in 1969. A communicant of Notre Dame Church, she was a member of its St. Ann Society and active in church affairs. She was a member of the Golden Senior Club and was active in many minstrels as a solo singer. She enjoyed traveling and cooking. Her husband, Raymond C. Tart, whom she married June 16, 1924, died Feb. 17, 1962. She leaves three sons, Raymond H. Tart of Pittsfield, Richard D. Tart of Lee and Robert K. Tart of New Port Richey, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 19, at 9:15 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church celebrated by the Rev. Andre Corbin. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Tart may be made to Notre Dame Church in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
