Donald Rancourt

Donald C. Rancourt, 67, of 66 Bull Hill Road died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 21, 1934, son of Lawrence C. and Geraldine Chase Rancourt, he attended schools in Cheshire, Lanesboro, New Lebanon, N.Y., and Pittsfield. Mr. Rancourt was employed by GE as an assembler for 26 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and enjoyed collecting coins and reading. His wife, the former Patricia Foley, died May 2, 1975. He leaves a son, Michael Rancourt of Greenfield; a brother, Philip A. Rancourt Sr. of New Ashford; and a granddaughter. He also leaves his longtime companion, Louise R. Torra, with whom he resided. A brother, Valmore Rancourt, passed away June 12, 1992. Services for will be conducted Wednesday at 11 at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church, Pittsfield. Burial will follow in Hancock Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, Tuesday, July 23, from 5 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Council on Aging in care of the funeral home.
