Edna N. Kittler

Edna Norma Kittler, 93, formerly of 65 Valley St., died yesterday at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown, where she had resided for two years. Born in Adams on July 21, 1909, daughter of E. Alfred and Alma Gross Kleiner, she attended local schools. She was last employed as a clerk at the former Giant Department Store in North Adams, retiring 30 years ago. Previously, she had worked at the former Dewey & Almy Chemical Co. Mrs. Kittler was a member of First Congregational Church and of its Women's Society. Her husband, Alwine M. Kittler, whom she married Sept. 14, 1929, died Dec. 22, 1962. She leaves two sons, Alwine M. Kittler Jr. of Adams and David W. Kittler of Bloomfield, Conn.; a sister, Irene DuBois of Adams; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A brother, E. Alfred Kleiner, and two sisters, Elsie Koch and Alma Golec, are deceased. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 at AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. The Rev. Mike Mullaney, pastor of First Congregational Church, Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10 until the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Congregational Church through the funeral home.
