N. Marie Guzzy

N. Marie Guzzy, 90, formerly of 318 Onota St., died Tuesday at Providence Care Center of Lenox, where she had resided for the past three years. Born in Williamstown on May 23, 1912, daughter of Patrick and Nettie Thibodeau McMahon, she attended schools in Lanesboro and Pittsfield. A homemaker, she was a volunteer at Berkshire Medical Center. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling and her grandchildren. Her husband, Albert D. Guzzy, whom she married in 1933, died Sept. 24, 1978. She leaves two daughters, Jo-Ann Sacchetti of Dalton and Sandra J. Ryan of Pittsfield; a sister, Helen Godfrey of Titusville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, George McMahon, and a sister, Hazel Stanley. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 27, at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Joseph's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church or the charity of one's choice in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
