Elizabeth Holbrook

Elizabeth Holbrook, 81, of Sentry Hill at York, Maine, formerly of Great Barrington, died Tuesday at home. Born in Westfield on Sept. 23, 1920, daughter of George and Marguerite Searle, she graduated from Winthrop High School in 1938. She also graduated from Westbrook (Maine) Junior College. She moved to Great Barrington in 1942. Late in her life, she moved to Cape Porpoise and then to Kennebunk, both in Maine, before moving to York. She was a homemaker. While in Great Barrington, Mrs. Holbrook was a member of St. James' Church. She also was active in town affairs, serving on the Board of Registrars for many years and as a member of the Republican Town Committee. She leaves her husband, E. Harper Holbrook, whom she married Sept. 19, 1942. She also leaves a daughter, Judith Bubriski of Danvers; a son, John Holbrook of York; a sister, Ruth Nash Williams of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a brother, Robert F. Searle of Williamsburg, Va., and a granddaughter. She was predeceased by another brother, George W. Searle. Funeral services will be private.
