M. Rita McCarthy

M. Rita McCarthy, 86, of Slingerlands, N.Y., formerly of Pittsfield, died Thursday at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, N.Y. Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 15, 1916, daughter of William E. and Mary Murray Cowlin, she graduated from Pittsfield High School. Mrs. McCarthy was a homemaker. Her husband, William F. McCarthy, died in 1975. She leaves a son, W. Paul McCarthy of Slingerlands; two granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Albany.Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at MAGIN & KEEGAN FUNERAL HOME, 891 Madison Ave., Albany, N.Y., today, Sunday, from 4 to 6. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield.
