Georgiana Spellios

Georgiana Spellios, 80, of 654 Dalton Division Road died Thursday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided since March. Born in Greenfield on Aug. 27, 1921, daughter of Thomas and Penelope Christodulopoulos Spellios, she moved to Pittsfield as a child and graduated from Pittsfield High School. Miss Spellios was employed by GE as a secretary for 47 years, retiring in 1987 from the ordnance department. She was a member of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church and of its Philoptochos Society. She leaves a sister, M. Margo Spellios of Pittsfield, and a brother, Louis T. Spellios of Wilbraham. A sister, Suzanne Sullivan, died in 1998. The funeral will be Monday at 9 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, followed by services at 10 at St. George the Tropaiophoras Greek Orthodox Church, with the Rev. Fr. Michael T. Stearns, presbyter, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours at DERY FUNERAL HOME will be tomorrow from 2 to 6. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders or to the American Cancer Society, all in care of the funeral home.
