Helen Jean Adams, 65, of 840 Peaceful Valley Road, North Creek, N.Y., formerly of North Adams, died yesterday morning at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica, N.Y., as a result of an automobile accident in the Utica area. She moved to North Creek in 1992 to live with her daughter, Debra Hook. Born in Bennington, Vt., on June 6, 1937, daughter of Frank and Dorothy Baker Adams, she attended schools in Bennington and North Adams. She had been employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for many years before joining GE in Pittsfield. While in North Adams, Ms. Adams was a member of First Baptist Church and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 310 Ladies' Auxiliary, and former president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. She was an avid bowler. Besides her daughter, with whom she made her home, she leaves a son, John Fachini of Adams; two brothers, Kenneth Adams of North Adams and George Adams of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters, Hazel Sacco of Stamford, Vt., and Olga Stewart of California ; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves her former husband, John Fachini of North Adams. She was predeceased by a sister and two brothers, Elizabeth Nichols, Robert Adams and Leonard Adams. Services will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels. Burial will take place at a later date. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 5 to 7 before the service. Memorial donations are suggested for the Johnsburg, N.Y., Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
