Carmen DiGrigoli

Carmen DiGrigoli, 54, of Canton, Ga., a native of Lee, died Friday at home of cancer. Born on Nov. 21, 1947, son of Angelo and Susie Pizzuto DiGrigoli, he was a graduate of Lee High School, where he was active with the football and basketball teams. Mr. DiGrigoli was employed as director of sales at Schweitzer-Mauduit International in Alpharetta, Ga. He was first employed with its predecessor, the former Kimberly Clark Corp., and transferred to the Georgia headquarters in 1982. He was a communicant of St. Thomas' Church in Georgia and St. Mary's Church in Lee. An avid golfer, he was a former member of Greenock Country Club. He also enjoyed fishing in local streams and brooks. Besides his parents, he leaves his wife of 18 years, Janie A. DiGrigoli; a son, Curt DiGrigoli of Canton; two stepsons, Allen Cain of Dahlonega, Ga., and Michael Cain of Canton; a daughter, Angela DiGrigoli Whitaker of Canton; three brothers, Stephen A. DiGrigoli of Boston, Paul DiGrigoli of Holyoke and Robert DiGrigoli of Marshfield; a sister, Sandra DiGrigoli Scarafoni of Lee, and four stepgrandchildren. Another son, James A. DiGrigoli, died April 13, 1982. A Memorial Mass will be offered Saturday, Aug. 17, at 11 at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial was Aug. 12 at Macedonia Memorial Park in Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the James A. DiGrigoli Memorial Scholarship, c/o Monument Mountain Regional High School, 600 Stockbridge Road, Route 7, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
