Leonard Hoffman

Leonard A. Hoffman, 74, of Cherry Plain and Malone, N.Y., died yesterday morning of cancer at home in Malone. He was the father of Patricia Schmidt of Windsor. Born in Cherry Plain, son of Michael and Abigail Goodermote Hoffman, he was educated in schools there. He formerly owned and operated a dairy farm in Cherry Plain. Besides his daughter, he leaves his wife, the former Catherine "Kay" Edwards; another daughter, Ellen Cole of Crown Point, N.Y.; two sons, Robert A. Hoffman of Cherry Plain and Michael J. Hoffman of East Chatham, N.Y.; a brother, Albert Hoffman of Dyken Pond, Berlin, N.Y.; a sister, Mary Haywood, formerly of Cherry Plain, and two grandsons. Services will be private and at a later date. Burial will be in Cherry Plain Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Country, 475 East Main St., Malone, NY 12953. Arrangements are under the direction of HALL & HIGGINS FUNERAL HOME in Stephentown, N.Y.
