Sharon Hamblin

Sharon Hamblin, 49, of Route 23B, Claverack, N.Y., a native of Egremont, died yesterday at Hospice in the Catskills in Hudson, N.Y. Born on May 18, 1953, daughter of Donald and Grace Taylor Gleason of North Egremont, she was a graduate of Mount Everett Regional School, where she was active in gymnastics. Mrs. Hamblin assisted her husband, Daniel "Red" Hamblin, in his work at Questroyal Thoroughbred Farm in Hudson. She enjoyed caring for and riding horses, and going to horse shows. She owned a horse as a teen-ager and rode in local horse shows, and was a member of the South Berkshire Campfire Girls. She and her husband were married March 18, 1989, in Plymouth. Besides her husband and parents, she leaves two sons, Ethan Hendricks of North Egremont and Robert Burns of Hillsdale, N.Y.; a daughter, Shawna Hamblin, at home; a sister, Robin Walters of North Egremont, and a granddaughter. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 11 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. William Wallis, pastor of St. Peter's Church. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Egremont. The family will receive friends tomorrow, Aug, 13, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon C. Hamblin Memorial Fund through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
