Frieda M. Toll Granzow

Frieda M. Toll Granzow, 93, of 14 Shade Rd. Sandisfield died Monday August 19, 2002 at the home of her grandson at 69 Oak Hill Rd. Pittsfield, MA where she lived since 1997. She was born in Mecklenburg, Germany daughter of the late Hans and Frieda Toll. On Sept.29,1908 she moved to the United States in 1930 after being educated in Germany. She married her late husband Frederick â€œFritzâ€ Granzow in New York City in 1930, and who died May 16,1980. She has been a resident of Sandisfield since the 1940â€™s, she loved the outdoors, gardening, and birds. She kept up on current events, the space program, enjoyed needlework and knitting, and was a great singer. She leaves her 3 grandsons Thomas with whom she lived, Paul and David, and 1 granddaughter Emily. She was predeceased by her son Norman Granzow, who died in December 1961, and her daughter Edith Oâ€™Gara who died in 1983. Funeral Services for Frieda Granzow. who died Monday August 19, 2002 will be Friday August 22,2002 at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME with Rev George E. Mayer officiating at 1O AM. Burial will follow in Sandisfield Center Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
