Gene Arthur Soucie

Gene Arthur Soucie, 23, of 177 Kemp Ave. died Thursday at home. Born in Hartford, Conn., on Feb. 13, 1979, son of Arthur F. Soucie of Ottawa and Frances J. Chase Soucie of North Adams, he moved to North Adams at an early age and was a 1998 graduate of Drury High School. He served for two years in the Air Force. Mr. Soucie was employed by Curtis Fine Papers in Adams. A talented artist, he also enjoyed cars. Besides his father and his mother, with whom he made his home, he leaves three brothers, his twin, Navy Airman Glen F. Soucie of San Diego, Petty Officer Roy P. Soucie of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Gerald Soucie of North Adams, and his maternal grandfather, Philip R. Chase of East Windham, Conn. The funeral for Gene Soucie will be conducted Tuesday at 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, by the Rev. Joseph DeCosta, pastor of First Baptist Church in North Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 7. Donations are suggested to the American Red Cross in care of the funeral home, 74 Marshall St. Survivors include his twin brother, Navy Airman Glen F. Soucie of San Diego; brother and sister-in-law, Roy P. Soucie and Carly Soucie, both petty officers in the Navy at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; a half-brother, Gerald Soucie of North Adams, and a nephew, Sean Soucie of Pearl Harbor.
