James Weslowski

James Joseph Weslowski, 85, of 2913 Missouri Ave., Bryan, Texas, formerly of Pittsfield and Cheshire, died Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Born in Adams on Feb. 18, 1916, son of John and Anna Wlodasz Weslowski, he attended Adams and Cheshire schools. He had resided in Kerrville, Texas, from 1977 until 1984, when he moved to Bryan. Mr. Weslowski was employed as a heavy equipment operator for various construction companies for many years. He retired in 1975. He was also a dairy farmer and saw mill operator in Cheshire for many years. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking and bowling, and he played the harmonica on local radio stations with his sisters, Olympia and Sophia, who sang. His wife, the former Margaret Lillian Ochs, whom he married in 1935, died in 1985. He leaves a daughter, Anne W. Pasko of Lanesboro; two sons, Lawrence J. Weslowski of Framingham and James D. Weslowski of Bryan; a brother, his twin, Charles Weslocki of Lanesboro; two sisters, Olympia "Lena" Dziok of Winter Springs, Fla., and Sophia Delmolino of Pittsfield, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire, celebrated by the Rev. John Smegal. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home. Mr. Weslowski is also survived by his two adored grandchildren, Todd Danylin and Lawrence J. Weslowski Jr.
