Bertha Soden

Bertha Soden, 83, formerly of North Plain Road, Housatonic, died Wednesday in Gunnison, Colo., where she had resided for a year. Born in Franklin, N.H., on March 18, 1919, daughter of Clinton and Rose E. Wilson Tilton, she was a 1938 graduate of Franklin High School. She moved to Housatonic in 1948. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Thomas Soden, died in 1976. She leaves a daughter, Patricia Beattie of Hereford, Ariz.; a son David R. Monte of Crested Butte, Colo.; three sisters, Dorothy Davis of Franklin, Rose Alverman of Clearlake, Wis., and Margaret Taylor of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Arthur Tilton of Franklin; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Bertha Soden of Housatonic died Sept. 19, 2002. She also leaves two grandchildren, Todd Beattie of Durango, Colo., and Mark Beattie of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two great-granddaughters of Sierra Vista and a great-grandson of Durango. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Soden, and three brothers, Thomas, Ralph and Clinton Tilton Jr. Funeral services will be private.
