Edward Davidson Sr

Edward Davidson Sr., 84, formerly of Pearl Street, died Saturday at Timberlyn Heights Nursing Center, where he had resided since 1998. Born in New Milford, Conn., on May 7, 1918, son of Charles Mealey Davidson and Mabel Dodd Davidson Knowles, he attended schools there. He moved to Great Barrington in 1963. An Army veteran of World War II, he served with the military police. Mr. Davidson was a retired production worker for the former Kimberly-Clark Paper Mills in Lee. Previously, he had worked at the former Petroleum Tank Lines in Lee and the former M & M Golf Center in Great Barrington, and been a carrier for The Berkshire Eagle. He was a member of James A. Modolo VFW Post 8348. He enjoyed tending his lawn and working in his vegetable gardens. He leaves his wife, the former Isabelle Bak, whom he married Nov. 29, 1944, in New Milford, Conn. Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, Edward Davidson Jr. of Great Barrington, Robert Davidson of Lee, William Davidson of Keene, N.H., and Allen Davidson of Colchester, Vt.; two daughters, Dianne Zamberletti of Hernando, Fla., and Barbara Davidson of Sheffield; 16 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Edward Davidson Sr. died Sept. 21, 2002. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 10 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. John Lis, pastor of Our Lady of the Valley Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
