Janet E. "Snookie" Seelig

Janet E. "Snookie" Seelig, 61, of 50 Cook Road died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in New Marlboro on Nov. 7, 1940, daughter of Luella P. Hart Keefner, she was a 1958 graduate of Mount Everett High School. She was a homemaker. She leaves her husband, Larry J. Seelig Sr., to whom she was married June 17, 1960, in Egremont by the Rev. James Chase. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Larry J. Seelig Jr. of Grass Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Laurie J. Seelig of Sheffield; two brothers, Tracey Blakely of Copake, N.Y., and C. Benjamin Keefner of Great Barrington; a sister, Joan Capatino of Winsted, Conn., and three grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside services for Janet E. "Snookie" Seelig, who died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, will be Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 10 in Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Art Kaufman, pastor of Old Parish Church in Sheffield, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy in Snookie's memory may be made to Berkshire Medical Center's ICU unit in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, which is in charge of arrangements. She leaves her three grandchildren, Kristy L. and Karen A. Key and James Seelig.
