Exilda Helen Beauchamp

Exilda Helen Beauchamp, 96, of 13 Phelps Ave. died yesterday morning at home. Born in Readsboro, Vt., on Oct. 14, 1906, daughter of Adelor and Josephine Scarbo Gelinas, she was educated there. Mrs. Beauchamp was employed as a cook for the former Hub Restaurant, retiring in 1961. Prior to that, she had been employed as a spinner at the former Hoosac Cotton mill for many years and by the former Sprague Electric, Wall-Streeter Shoe and the Clark Biscuit companies. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening. Her husband, Lawrence J. Beauchamp, died June 11, 2000. She leaves two sons, Edward DeGrenier of Loganville, Ga., and Richard L. Beauchamp of Richmond; a daughter, Elaine King of North Adams, with whom she resided; two sisters, Alvina Schonfelder of Cheshire and Viola Harvey of Clarksburg; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Exilda Helen Beauchamp died Thursday, Oct. 17. She was predeceased by three brothers and six sisters. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. Following cremation, burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Cheshire Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements.
