Mary Jesse Cooper

Mary Jesse Cooper, 83, of Cooper Lane died yesterday morning at Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield, where she had resided since May. Born in Pittsfield on May 9, 1919, daughter of Robert E. and Harriet A. Rochelo Jones, she attended local schools. She was employed as a nursing assistant at Great Barrington Healthcare for many years. Her husband, Frederick E. Cooper, whom she married Feb. 6, 1936, in Pittsfield, died June 1, 1983. She leaves four sons, Andrew B. Cooper, Walter R. Cooper and Joel F. Cooper, all of Pittsfield, and Wayne E. Cooper of West Stockbridge; a daughter, Lorraine A. Losaw of Stockport, N.Y.; a sister, Geraldine A. Aldrich of Dalton; a brother, Raymond H. Jones of Pittsfield; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mary Jesse Cooper died Oct. 27, 2002. She was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. The funeral will be Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 2 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington. Burial will follow in Stockbridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends tomorrow, Oct. 29, from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
