Josephine B. Salvadore

Josephine B. Salvadore, 82, of 7 Glendale Middle Road died yesterday morning at home. Born in Glendale on Feb. 15, 1920, daughter of Martin and Pauline Kot Barenski, she attended local schools and the former Williams High School. She was a cook and housekeeper for Norman Rockwell and the Berle family of Great Barrington for many years. Mrs. Salvadore was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the Glendale Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary and the Stockbridge Women's Bowling League. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Stockbridge Golf Club and a former member of the Greenock Country Club in Lee. Her husband, Adolph J. Salvadore, whom she married Feb. 1, 1943, died Nov. 5, 2000. She leaves two sons, J. Martin Salvadore of Stockbridge and James P. Salvadore of Great Barrington; a daughter, Beverly A. Pellizzaro of Pittsfield; a brother, Joseph Barenski of Lee; two sisters, Grace Delmolino of Stockbridge and Theresa Graham of Lee, and three grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Josephine Salvadore leaves her beloved grandchildren, Amy, Todd and Tracy; her son-in-law, James Pellizzaro; and her daughter-in-law, Pat Salvadore. She was predeceased by her brother, Adam, and her sisters, Nellie, Mary and Sadie. The funeral will be Monday at 9:15 from KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Joseph's Church in Stockbridge. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Stockbridge. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to River Brook Residence or a charity of their choice in care of the funeral home.
