Jessie Emma Lowe Venable, 100, formerly of 49 Marion Ave. died Saturday at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown, where she had resided since 1992. Born in North Adams on Jan. 10, 1902, daughter of John and Emma White Scott, she was a 1920 graduate of Drury High School and a 1923 graduate of the former North Adams Normal School, now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She taught in the North Adams Public School System for 30 years, retiring in 1964. Mrs. Venable was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in North Adams, where she was a member of its guild and the Monday Club. She was also a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. Her husband, Wallace H. Venable, died in 1965. She leaves a son, Scott Lowe of Bristol, Conn. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Jessie Venable will be tomorrow, Dec. 24, at 10 at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams. The Rev. James Bruce Duncan of St. John's Church, Williamstown, will officiate. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow from 9 until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
