William Michael Molloy

William Michael Molloy, 81, of 1115 Lake Francis Blvd., Apopka, Fla., formerly of Ashton Avenue, died Wednesday at home. Born in North Adams on Dec. 10, 1921, a son of James J. and Julia Coons Molloy, he graduated from Drury High School. He also graduated from the former North Adams State College, now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and received his master's degree in education from Framingham State College. He lived in the Boston area for many years and maintained his home in North Adams during the summer months. He moved to Florida about 10 years ago. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Molloy taught in the Lexington School System and later in Dracut schools, until his retirement. While in North Adams, he was a communicant of St. Francis' Church. An art collecter, he enjoyed painting and sculpture and was known for his own artwork, including his work in ceramics. He leaves nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for James M. Molloy will be Monday, Dec. 30, at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Francis' Church. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, Dec. 29, from 4 to 6. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home. He leaves nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Four sisters and a brother are deceased, including Barbara Rinaldi, who died Feb. 16, 1988; Carol Molloy, Aug. 22, 1993; Alice Anderson, July 20, 1998; Judith "Julia" Tworig, March 1, and James "Jimo" Molloy, Aug. 26.
