Patricia Kingdon Ball

Patricia Kingdon Ball, 73, of Norfolk Road died yesterday morning at her home following a six-year battle with cancer. Born on April 29, 1929, in Pittsfield, the daughter of Philip H. and Ella Williams Nicolai Kingdon, she was educated in local schools and graduated from the former Williams High School in Stockbridge in 1947. She enjoyed latch hooking rugs, gardening, playing the piano and dancing. Her husband, Thomas J. Crawford, whom she married in 1948, died in 1968. Her second husband, Harry J. Ball, whom she married on Oct. 26, 1968, died June 3, 1996. She leaves three daughters, Mary Ella Crawford Wilcox of West Hartford, Conn., Jane Crawford Wright of Sheffield and Nancy Crawford Clouser of Ashley Falls; two sons, Jeffrey Crawford of Hartsville and Gary Ball of Housatonic; her stepson Barry Ball of Sheffield; her brother John Kingdon; 19 grandchildren and one step-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her son Stephen Crawford, who died Jan. 19, 1973, and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Patricia K. Ball, who died Jan. 18, 2003, will be conducted Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at 11 at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses on Route 7 in Sheffield. There will be no calling hours. She also leaves her sister-in-law Joyce Kingdon. She was predeceased by her son Stephen Crawford, who died Jan. 19, 1973, and two grandchildren, Cameron Ball and Carrie Crawford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either HospiceCare of the Berkshires or Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses through FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
