Mignonne T. Gawron

Mignonne T. Gawron, 79, of 3 Montgomery Ave. died yesterday morning at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since October. Born in Canada on March 22, 1923, daughter of Almord J. and Rose Durant Tremblay, she moved to Pittsfield at the age of 6 and attended local schools. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Gawron had at one time been employed as a waitress at the former Press Box and Sugar Bowl restaurants, and also as a hostess at the former Showboat Restaurant in New Lebanon, N.Y. She was an active member of American Legion Post 68 Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, especially cookbooks, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. She leaves her husband, Walter C. Gawron, whom she married in 1962; three sons, Douglas Cadorette, David Carlo and Kim Gawron, all of Pittsfield; two daughters, Maggie Gawron of Pittsfield and Tina Ferrell of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Paul Tremblay of Minisink Hill, Pa.; a sister, Juliette Dupont of Kissimmee, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Anthony Carlo. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mignonne T. Gawron, who died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, was also predeceased by three brothers, Marcel Tremblay, Rael Tremblay and Albe Tremblay, and a sister, Carmen Ochs. The funeral will be Saturday, Jan. 25, at 10 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
