Isadore Herbert Pindick

Isadore Herbert Pindick, 84, of 215 Ashland St., died Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Gail B. Giorgi, of 75 Central Ave. Born in North Adams on Feb. 7, 1918, son of Morris Pindick and Pauline Weisbrodt Pindick, he attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1935. He served in the Massachusetts State Guard. First employed by General Electric in Pittsfield, he later worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. for a short time. He then was employed in the Adams office of Adams Super Markets; he transferred to the Pittsfield branch of the store and was named manager. He then became manager of the North Adams store, where he worked until his retirement in 1980. Following his retirement, he operated the former Corner Package and Variety Store and the Munchin-Out Deli in Adams for about three years. He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel in North Adams. He enjoyed gardening and movies and was a fan of the New England Patriots. He leaves his wife, the former Ruth Smith, whom he married on April 7, 1940. He also leaves one daughter, Gail B. Giorgi of North Adams; one son, Benjamin L. Pindick of Williamstown; one sister, Anne Cohen of North Adams; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two nieces. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Isadore Herbert Pindick will take place Sunday afternoon, Jan. 26, 2003, at 12:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., with Rabbi Jeffrey Goldwasser, spiritual leader of Congregation Beth Israel officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Beth Israel Cemetery in Clarksburg. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to VNA-Hospice of North Berkshire in care of the funeral home. Survivors include five grandchildren, Alan J. Giorgi and Neal A. Giorgi of North Adams, Jeffrey Pindick of Albany, N.Y., Jennifer Bellert and Robin Bates of Bennington, Vt.; seven great-grandchildren, Kara, Alicia, Jenna, Joel, and Conner Giorgi, Ashley Bellert and R. J. Bates; and two nieces. A brother, Benjamin Pindick, is deceased.
