Richard Stanley Brimage

Richard Stanley Brimage, 36, of 42 Blackinton St. died Thursday morning at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Boston on Aug. 24, 1966, son of Eva Brimage McGee of Providence, R.I., and Richard Smith of Lawrence, he attended schools in Boston, including Thompson High School, and obtained a degree from the Boston Culinary Institute. Mr. Brimage moved to Berkshire County in 1996 and was employed as a chef at several restaurants, including the Williams Inn and 1896 House, both in Williamstown, and the Boston Fish Market in North Adams. Besides his father and his mother, he leaves his wife, the former Sandra Phillips Vanderburg, whom he married June 16, 1996; a daughter, Natasha Chapman of Brighton; a brother, Bourjolly Genisca of Providence; a sister, Amiinae Cruz of Providence, and his stepfather, Bernard McGee of Providence. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Richard S. Brimage will take place Tuesday at 1 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from noon to 1. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested in his memory through the funeral home.
