Gladys E. Schmolze

Gladys E. Schmolze, 89, of 28 Out of Bounds Road, Palmyra, Va., died yesterday at home. She was the mother of Douglas Schmolze of Great Barrington. Born in Paterson, N.J., on April 6, 1913, she was the daughter of Fred and Carrie Epton Vastano. A 15-year resident of Palmyra, she was formerly of Montague and Glen Rock, N.J. Mrs. Schmolze was a homemaker. Her husband, Kenneth William Schmolze, is deceased. Besides her son, she leaves another son, Glenn Schmolze of Ellenville, N.Y.; a sister, Dorothy Schneider of Newton, N.J., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- There will be no visitation. Services for Gladys E. Schmolze will be at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements were made by HILL AND WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 201 First St. North, Charlottesville, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1490 Pantops Mountain Place, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
