Armand Medrick Lively

Armand Medrick Lively 86, of 254 Walker St. died yesterday morning at home. Born in Heath on Oct. 23, 1916, son of Medrick and Eleanor Cote Lively, he attended schools there. He moved to North Adams in 1945. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Medical Corps. Mr. Lively was a finish carpenter, and was employed by several area builders and contractors for 30 years. He retired in 1976. He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. He was a member of the New England Regional Council of Carpenters, the National Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of Pittsfield, the Dr. George L. Curran VFW Post 996 and Frank R. Stiles American Legion Post 125. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed traveling and gardening. He leaves his wife, the former Isabelle G. Paquette, whom he married Sept. 10, 1945; two sons, Vincent M. Lively and Ronald A. Lively, both of North Adams; two brothers, Frederick Lively of Heath and the Rev. Joseph Lively of Marshfield, Vt.; and three sisters, Marion Dandeneau of Rowe, Nita Brennan of Littleton and Sister Mary Martina, Our Lady of Mercy, retired, of Worcester. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Armand Medrick Lively will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 9 from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in Our Lady of Mercy Shrine, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Visiting Nurses Association & Hospice of Northern Berkshire Inc. or to Notre Dame Church through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., 01247.
