Eleanor "Lena" Wojtaszek

Eleanor "Lena" Wojtaszek, 81, of 19 East Hoosac St. died early Sunday morning at home, following several months of failing health. Born in Adams on April 17, 1921, daughter of John J. and Zofia Strzepek Wojtaszek, she attended St. Stanislaus' School and was a 1938 graduate of the former Adams High School. Miss Wojtaszek was employed for 11 years as a clerk in the office of the treasurer/collector for the town of Adams, retiring in 1984. Earlier, she worked as a bookkeeper for many years for her family's business, the former Adams Sausage Co. Following her father's death, she became owner with her late brother, Francis, and then with her nephew, Francis Wojtaszek Jr. until the business closed in 1973. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church. She leaves two sisters, Adele Wade, with whom she resided, and Elizabeth Godek of Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Eleanor Wojtaszek will be Thursday, Feb. 6, at 9:15 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Wednesday, from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus' Church through the funeral home. She was predeceased by three brothers, Francis, Thaddeus and Ignatius Wojtaszek, and a sister, Stefania Swiatek. She leaves 13 nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and -nephews.
