Anna Bazzano

Anna Bazzano, 94, of 27 Harding St. died Tuesday afternoon at home. Born in Sortino, Sicily, Italy, on June 6, 1908, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Petruzelo, she attended schools in Sicily. She emigrated to the United States as a young woman and settled in Pittsfield 74 years ago. Mrs. Bazzano was employed as a sewer at the former Berkshire Coat Factory for 25 years, retiring in 1971. A communicant of Mount Carmel Church, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking. Her husband, Louis Bazzano, whom she married March 10, 1928, died Oct. 10, 1983. She leaves two sons, Joseph Bazzano of Pittsfield and Louis A. Bazzano of Washington Township, N.J.; a daughter, Sarah A. Connor of Pittsfield, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Anna Bazzano, who died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, leaves her 10 grandchildren, Rick Connor, Diane Wood, Louis Bazzano, Carrie Clark, Christine Evans, Joseph Bazzano, Lee Bazzano, Van Nokhoudian, Tina Saks and Rick Bazzano, and her 12 great-grandchildren, Christopher Yetz, Craig Wood, Sarah Wood, Nicole Clark, Addison Evans, Blaise Evans, Jessica Van Sader, Peter Saks, Evan Nokhoudian, Christina Nokhoudian, Nicole Nokhoudian and Anthony Nokhoudian. The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 15, at 8:15 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, Feb. 14, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201
