Mrs. F. Harriet (Pratt) Sherman

Mrs. F Harriet (Pratt) sherman, 88 of 114 Greene Ave. of Castleton, Ny died Feb, 6 2003 at the Resurrection Rest Home in Castleton, NY. She was a former longtime resident of Longwood, Florida and 80 Tilda Rd. Florida, Mass. She was born in North Adams, Mass on July 11, 1914 a daughter of the late Lincoln Choate Pratt and Gertrude T. (Bliss) Pratt. She attended schools in Clarksburg and North Adams and graduated from the Drury High School with the class of 1932. Mrs. Sherman was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for about 20 years. She later worked at the Strong Hewat Mill in Briggsville. She was amployed at Williams College in Williamstown until her retirement in 1972. She moved to Longwood, Fla. in 1972. She was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church and its Women's Evening Giuld. She was a member of the Houghton Community Round Table. Active in Girl Scouts, she led the Brownie Troop at the former Houghton School. In Florida, she was a charter member of the Retired Senior Volunteeer Program (RSVP) for Seminole County. She was the widow of Ralph Bertrand "Pinky" Sherman Jr. who died on June 27, 1991. They were married on Sept 23, 1933. She leaves one son, Ralph Sherman Jr. of Castleton, NY; five grandchldren Jeffery Lavendol of Orlando, Fla; Scott Lavendol of Birmingham, Ala; David Lavendol of Orange City Fl; Pamela Smith and Laurie Sherman of Castleton, NY and six grandchildren Colleen, Kyle, and Tara Smith of Castleton on Hudson NY; Cara lavendol of Orlando, FLa; and Sarah Lavendol of Brirmingham Ala. Funeral Notice: Funerla Services for F. Harriet (Pratt) Sherman will take place on Monday morning, Feb. 24, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna home for Funerals Central Chapels 74 Marshall St. North Adams, wirh Rev. Edward A. King, Rector of St. Johns Episcopal Church in North Adams. Burial will be in the spring in Clarksburg Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 3.pm.-6 p.m. Donations can be made to to Hospice of Rensselaer County in care of the funeral home.
